TN: J. Calvet 2005 Médoc “Reserve de l’Estey”

Simple, cedar-and-stone-dominated, fruit-secondary cheap Bordeaux. This would be better than merely acceptable if the finish didn’t taste of cardboard. As it is, it’s still a good deal and a lot nicer than most cheap reds. Not overripe or over-alcoholic (12.5%ABV). ($6, Trader Joe’s)

TN: Chateau La Croix de Gay 2001 Pomerol

Posting this well after tasting the wine, without notes. I don’t remember much about this, except that it was very cedary and almost entirely lacking in joy.

TN: Chateau Latour 1982 Pauillac

The Points Guy says 100 points! Tasted the last glass left in a bottle that was a leftover from what must have been quite a wine party. Deep, dark red just starting to fade a bit at the rim to a brick color. On the nose, wet leather, wet leather, and a little bit of [...]
