TN: André et Michel Quenard Chignin-Bergeron 2002 Vin de Savoie “Les Terrasses”

Chignin-Bergeron is the local name for Roussanne. Showing some darkening / oxidative colors at this point, and smells like a basket of ripe apples. A calm (and calming) wine, one that never raises its voice. A wine reminiscent of sunsets on quiet autumn afternoons. Possibly past its peak, but enjoying a lovely retirement.

TN: F. Giachino 2004 Rousette de Savoie “Altesse”

Concentrated, sunny, happy mineral and yellow fruit juice. Delicious. Cheap. ($10)
